--- OVERVIEW ---
• 8"x16" fine art giclee print of artwork by Christina Mattison Ebert, inspired by the Haftarah portion (1 Kings 18:46-19:21) corresponding to Torah portion Pinchas (Book of Numbers).
• D’rash Design prints make the perfect bar/bat mitzvah or other life cycle event gifts and can be personalized with names and dates to an add an extra special touch! (See “Personalization” info section below.)
--- DETAILS ---
• A PDF information sheet accompanies each print and is sent to the buyer via Etsy messages. The information sheet includes details about the D’rash Design Project as well as a description of what inspired the image (as follows):
"The prophet Elijah, shaken and exhausted by the grand task of turning wayward Israelites away from idol worship, retreats to Mount Horeb. There, God "passed by, and a great and strong wind split the mountains, and shattered rocks...after the wind, an earthquake, a fire...and after the fire, a still, small voice." As Rabbi Susan Fendrick states, "Elijah could not see, could not hear what we as readers cannot help hearing: God crying out to him through a voice of stillness....This was God's message to Elijah: Not only by mighty acts can God be known. God is often known in the quietude after the greatness." As the amount of noise, static and distraction increases in our lives seemingly on a daily basis, it is helpful to remember that sometimes we need to tune it all out to truly hear."
• Part of Christina Mattison Ebert's D'rash Design Project, a year-long endeavor to create a new piece of art each week based on the Torah portion, Haftarah portion or Jewish holiday following her conversion to Judaism in 2011.
• This artwork is an open-edition reproduction of original art created with mixed and digital media.
